About the Inn

This casual but elegant hideaway is located in Cape Cod's oldest and most quaint seaside village. Built in 1750, it is one of the oldest historic homes that operates as a B&B. The original saltbox design was incorporated into a Federal style redesign during a major renovation in 1829. Another major renovation in the early 1950’s further expanded the home into what it is today.
There are five beautifully restored, pristine guest rooms with private baths. The elegant common rooms include a parlor and a keeping room with the original beehive oven. The Inn is recognized as an historic structure and is listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. It is the perfect place for a relaxing and renewing retreat or a romantic get away with someone special.
While visiting the Inn, explore the quaint village of Sandwich’s antique shops, art galleries, or one of the many museums within walking distance of the Inn. Stroll down to the Sandwich Boardwalk that crosses the marshes to Cape Cod Bay. Or, relax and enjoy the smell of the sea and a good book under an umbrella on the sun-drenched patio. If you enjoy the physical aspects of biking, hiking, or golfing, return to the Inn and rejuvenate in the gazebo enclosed hot tub. Massage and other spa treatments are available for the nurturing of body, mind, and spirit.
Breakfast
A healthy, hearty, and delicious breakfast is served each morning in the keeping room or outdoors on the patio. We strive to provide our guests with a healthy breakfast each morning; one that is low in fat. Most dietary needs can be accommodated.
Inn specialties include Pumpkin Cranbran Muffins, individual Rosemary Ham & Mushroom Quichelettes, and Macadamia Nut French Toast. A typical breakfast consists of seasonal fruit with home baked fruit breads, muffins or scones, and a baked dish, juice, coffee, and tea. For guests taking day trips to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, we provide a wonderful take-along breakfast bag.
Hot Tub
Relax in our gazebo-enclosed hot tub. We provide robes, towels, and flip-flops are available.
Spa Packages
Services are available at the Beach Plum Spa in Sandwich. This full-service spa offers a variety of body treatments, facials, and hand & foot treatments. It is a special place where your every need will be met, your body invigorated, your mind rested, and your spirit restored. In this sanctuary you will find tranquility, peace, and a sense of renewal. The Beach Plum Spa is just around the corner frm our Inn and we are happy to make reservations for you.
Holidays
Let us make your holidays and celebration special. The Innkeepers love holidays and preparing special breakfast foods and treats for the guests. If you have a special event to celebrate, ask Jan & Charlie to help.
The Village of Sandwich has a “Currier & Ives” feel to it during the Christmas season. Come for “Holly Days In Sandwich” which takes place the first two weeks in December. The Inn is resplendent with greens, flowers, candles, and the angel tree. After strolling through the village singing carols and viewing the “Spectacular of Lights” at Heritage Museums and Gardens, return to our cozy Inn for some special treats.
